Guest Speakers Include: Mike Newquist President, Resident Shows Division & Affiliate Shows Division Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group As President of the Resident & Affiliate Shows Divisions, Mike Newquist brings 20+ years of Sports & Entertainment industry leadership and is responsible for the overall strategy and execution of all profitability, productivity and efficiency initiatives throughout the Division’s operations, including Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group. Previously Newquist was President, Touring Shows Division, overseeing all of Cirque’s touring operations & profitability worldwide. Prior to joining Cirque, Mike was Senior Vice President, Event Development at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) responsible for all global event revenues, global event marketing, and business development leading to arena revenue records around the globe. Mike was instrumental in the development and management of the COVID-19 testing program which became the gold standard among professional sports. Previously Mike was with Ticketmaster/Live Nation Entertainment in Los Angeles and Chicago leading national business development as well as regional business operations and client leadership. Mike began his sports and entertainment career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (NFL) receiving multiple promotions and ultimately working his way up to the head of Business Operations role. In this role he reported to team ownership and led all business operations departments including Sales, Marketing, Sponsorships, Finance, Ticket Operations, Human Resources, Communications, Community Relations, and Event Operations. Mike has a Super Bowl ring from their championship 2002/2003 season. Neil Dorward Director Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group One of the most up-and-coming commercial theatre and television directors in the world today, Neil has directed and choreographed a number of critically acclaimed touring theatre shows across Europe, China, Japan, America, Canada, the Middle East and Australia including Solid Gold Motown (Monaco Sporting Club), All Night Long (Tropicana Hotel Las Vegas and European tour,) Rock around the Clock (European Tour), Spirit of Christmas, which opened in the world famous Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and Man in the Mirror (European Tour). In early 2011, Neil directed Le Grand Cirque Adrenaline, a high-octane Cirque spectacular that premiered at The Sydney Opera House and toured internationally, marking the beginning of his collaboration with Simon Painter and Tim Lawson. Neil went on to direct Le Noir-The Dark Side of Cirque, Cirque Paris, and Cirque Stratosphere. Perhaps most notably, Neil directed The Illusionists franchise from its debut at The Sydney Opera House, all the way to London’s Hammersmith Apollo (broadcast on ITV) and Broadway. Neil was the director and creative force behind Circus 1903, a turn-of-the-century spectacular featuring marvelous circus talent and magnificent elephant puppetry. In addition to creative producing America’s Got Talent Las Vegas Live at the Luxor Hotel & Casino, Neil is the co-creator and director of Mad Apple, Cirque du Soleil’s jaw-dropping and show-stopping new residency at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip.
