Talk Story: Kalivati Volavola
The Courtyard Marriott Oahu North Shore recently announced its upcoming schedule for its Talk Story & Makeke program. The bi-monthly program will continue to celebrate the stories, talents, and traditions of our island community in 2026 with feature speakers. Free and open to the public, the events typically take place every second and fourth Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the hotel’s conference room (dates subject to change).
Come and join us for an evening of talk story with Kalivati Volavola and learn about Fiji's beautiful and unique culture, music, dance, history and people. Kali is from the village of Nabitu in Fiji and is currently the manager of the Fijian village at the Polynesian Cultural Center, and also serves as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserve. Kali's knowledge and experience will provide a rich understanding of Fiji's traditions and influence in the Pacific and internationally. He is also a talented musician and instructor of Fijian dance.
