What to Expect:
8:30 – 9:00 AM: Check-In
Check‐in at The Barn at SALT at Our Kakaʻako. Volunteers will receive group assignments, supplies and instructions.
Cleanup supplies will be provided (while supplies last). Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own durable work gloves.
9:00 – 9:10 AM: Welcome & Safety Briefing
Learn about your kuleana during the cleanup and review safety guidelines.
9:10 – 11:00 AM: Community Cleanup
Help remove ʻōpala throughout Our Kakaʻako. Volunteers will follow assigned routes and bring all collected ʻōpala and recyclables to Mother Waldron Park.
11:00 AM: Cleanup Wrap-Up
Return supplies at Mother Waldron Park and enjoy a light snack as a mahalo for your kōkua.
Helpful Tips:
Please come prepared to spend the morning outdoors:
* Bring water in a reusable bottle 💧
* Wear reef‐safe sunscreen, a hat, and protective eyewear ☀️
* Comfortable closed‐toe shoes are recommended 👟
* Bring durable work gloves (if available)
* Keiki are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult
Parking:
Free volunteer parking is available at the following garages:
* SALT at Our Kakaʻako (333 Keawe St.)
* The Flats at Puʻunui (440 Keawe St.)
* Keauhou Lane (555 South St.)
Parking validation will be provided at check‐in.
