The Lei & Lale; A Drawing Gathering — Live Model Drawing
The Lei & Lale; A Drawing Gathering is a cross-cultural live drawing workshop created by Studio Kōlea in collaboration with Kraft Stories. This intimate morning invites artists and dreamers of all levels to slow down, draw from life, and experience the beauty of two cultures meeting through art — Hawai‘i’s lei and mu‘umu‘u, and the Turkish lale (tulip).
The gathering features a live model dressed in a beautiful mu‘umu‘u, adorned with fresh lei by Eco Mindfull Lei, surrounded by the warm scents of Turkish coffee and the creative energy of Chinatown Honolulu. This is a space to rest, create, and connect with community.
Whether you’re a beginner or a professional artist, you’re welcome to join. Bring your sketchbook, any drawing materials you love, and come enjoy a peaceful morning of inspiration.
What to Expect:
• Live model drawing (2 hours total drawing time with breaks)
• Model dressed in a traditional mu‘umu‘u
• Fresh hand-crafted lei
• Turkish coffee and small treats
• A multicultural studio environment in Chinatown
• A supportive, relaxing art space
