MLK Poetry & Storytelling Festival
Our Annual MLK Day International Poetry & Storytelling Festival is fast approaching. Each year we hold this event as a way to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy through poetry & spoken word. Join us on Sunday, January 19th from 3:00 - 5:00pm at the Civic Club of Harrisburg for this special event. We will feature local poets & artists and celebrate the wisdom of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This is a free event, open to the public.
The World Affairs Council of Harrisburg invites high school students to submit original short stories, essays (under 1000 words), and poems on the theme: “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Cash prizes for first, second, third place winners! Deadline to enter is January 10th.
