One out of every seven Confederate soldiers who fought at Gettysburg and 10% of the Union army marched through York County in the days before the Gettysburg Campaign.
On Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m., at Senior Commons at Powder Mill, 1775 Powder Mill Road, hear from Scott Mingus, Civil War author and lecturer. He will present on the Civil War murders of York County, with true crime stories like the murder of a Rebel soldier by York Countians when they learned he was raiding the area of horses, the discovery of a murdered Union soldier by townspeople, and a lost Union courier killed by a terrified farmer.
