The Coast Guard and What It Does
In this program, CAPT. Jorge Valente will provide an overview of the U.S. Coast Guard’s missions, roles, and responsibilities and discuss his career experiences. Highlighting the Coast Guard’s unique history, CAPT Valente will also present the Coast Guard’s role during war and combat operations.
Captain (CAPT) Jorge Valente is a U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue and Maritime Law Enforcement Officer. He has been assigned aboard a Coast Guard ship (Cutter), ashore units, and Deployable Specialized Forces across the country, executing Search and Rescue, Counter-Drug operations, and Counter-Terrorism missions. He has also served as the Coast Guard Liaison Officer to the Dominican Republic. CAPT Valente is currently a Resident Student at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, PA.
