Village Engage, a social enterprise of Mill Village Ministries, will host their second annual Faith & Justice Forum: Finding Common Ground through the Arts on Wednesday, October 16th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Peace Center. This event will bring together artists, students, and community members from across Greenville County to explore the power of the arts to promote understanding and bridge divides.
Over the past seven years Village Engage has hosted events about issues facing Greenville County residents including the criminal justice system, housing, and the environment. Last November, Village Engage kicked off its first annual Faith & Justice Forum documenting the uphill journey Greenville families face finding safe, affordable housing and financial wellness.
The 2024 Faith & Justice Forum will open with music written and performed by Greenville area high school students and national recording artist, Kyshona Armstrong. Attendees will also participate in a poetry writing experience with Moody Black and Melissa Whiteford St. Clair and enjoy a curated lunch with Chef Stephanie Bolden and My Neighbor’s Voice.
“This year’s event is for everyone who is tired of the noise and divisiveness in our world. Everyone is welcome to join us and experience the joy and uplift that’s created when we connect and find common ground with our neighbors.” ~Alecia Brewster, Village Engage Program Director
