Join us for a hands-on Pysanky Workshop where you’ll explore the rich history and cultural significance of traditional Ukrainian egg decorating. Participants will learn the wax-resist technique used to create intricate designs and decorate their own pysanka step-by-step. No experience is necessary, and all supplies are provided. No prior experience needed and all supplies provided. Each participant will leave with a beautifully decorated egg they created themselves.
Instructor: Julie Barker
Julie Barker has been creating and teaching pysanky for over 20 years. She is passionate about the traditional wax-and-dye batik method used to decorate eggs and the rich history and symbolism behind the art form. For Julie, pysanky & pisanki are more than decoration—it is a meaningful way to connect with her cultural heritage and explore history through a hands-on, creative tradition that has been passed down for generations.
