Dart Container Joins Rockford SusCom for Foam Recycling Event


Rockford, MI – January 18, 2025 - Dart Container, a leading provider of sustainable foodservice packaging solutions, is proud to announce its participation in a quarterly Expanded Polystyrene “foam” (EPS) and plastics recycling event in Rockford on Saturday, January 18. Rockford SusCom – an advisory group to the Rockford City Council – is sponsoring this recycling event with Dart Container as their EPS recycling partner. This event is free to the public and will take place on January 18th, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Extremis, 239 Northland Drive, Rockford, Michigan 49341. This event is part of a series of recycling events this year across Michigan Dart Container is participating in to provide a convenient way for residents to recycle household waste. Past events in Rockford have found great success, collecting an average of more than 400 pounds of EPS foam collected per event in 2024. What: A free Rockford community event for the public to drop off materials to recycle EPS. All clean EPS will be accepted. EPS foam “snaps” when bent; flexible foam will not be accepted. EPS materials that can be recycled include foam takeout containers, cups, egg cartons, and packaging. Packing peanuts, insulated foam, plastic containers, #1, #3, #6 or #7 plastics will not be accepted. When: Saturday, January 18, 2025, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Where: Extremis, 239 Northland Drive, Rockford, Michigan 49341.
