Motown Spirit Creativity Fair + Open Mic Brings Arts, Music, and Community Connection to Life in Metro Detroit
Detroit, MI — Detroit’s vibrant artistic heartbeat is getting louder with the launch of the Motown Spirit Creativity Fair + Open Mic, a new monthly community event celebrating words, arts, and music in a welcoming, family-friendly environment.
Launching in early 2026, the Motown Spirit Fair responds to a growing need for accessible, community-centered creative spaces. Held monthly on Sundays from 1–5 PM, the event invites authors, visual artists, musicians, comedians, spoken-word artists, and performers to share their talents, sell their creations, and connect with a diverse and supportive audience.
Designed for families, art lovers, and supporters of local talent, the fair features live performances, vendor tables, open mic opportunities, raffles, and community engagement for all ages. Children under 18 are encouraged to participate alongside adults, fostering creativity across generations.
“We’re building something beautiful for the community—a place where creativity, culture, and connection thrive,” said Jennifer Jaxxon-Louis, event founder and local author. “Everyone deserves a space to shine.”
Admission is free, and attendees can enjoy raffle prizes simply by attending or by supporting vendors and food offerings. Performers and vendors can inquire about participation in advance or onsite, making the fair accessible to both emerging and established creatives.
The first Motown Spirit Creativity Fair will take place on February 22, 2026, at the Fraser VFW, located at 17075 Anita Avenue, Fraser, MI.
