Description: Join the Southwest Detroit Business Association for the 2026 Community Investment Breakfast, a morning gathering of changemakers, champions, and collaborators committed to Southwest Detroit’s future. Proceeds support small business development and training; placemaking and corridor beautification; youth programming through COMPÁS cultural arts; the new Retail Accelerator and Community Space at La Joya Gardens; and continued advocacy for equitable investment in our community.
The breakfast will be moderated by WDIV’s Jason Colthorp and will include special greetings and remarks from Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield.
Four individuals will be honored for their commitment to the community:

Southwest Champion: Maria Salinas
Real Estate/Business Investment: Rodrigo Padilla
