Soup City guests can indulge in an array of soul-warming soups, exquisite small plates and delectable desserts prepared by 15 esteemed metro Detroit restaurants, including Grey Ghost Detroit, Detroit Institute of Gastronomy, Standby, Soil 2 Service, Cork & Gable and Bar Pigalle. Beer and wine will also be available to complement the evening’s offerings.
The event will feature captivating performances by Detroit musicians, including Kym Brady, known as ‘The Urban Violinist,’ and Neo-Soul songstress Angela Davis, with more to be announced as the date grows closer. WXYZ anchor and Emmy-award winning journalist Carolyn Clifford will be host the evening, adding her signature charm to the festivities.
A centerpiece of the evening, the “Art of Family” gallery, will showcase a moving photography campaign that highlights the resilience and aspirations of COTS families. This gallery seeks to challenge perceptions of poverty and homelessness, offering a lens into the strength and dreams of those served by COTS.
In addition to the event, individual supporters are encouraged to participate in a fundraising campaign leading up to the event. All donations will help the organization “create opportunities to succeed” for Detroit families affected by hardships and homelessness. Volunteer fundraisers are welcomed to join this effort to create meaningful change.
