Midwest’s largest Cars & Coffee meetup adds activities and Off the Grid speaker series
M1 Concourse kicks off its thrilling 2025 season on the track with award-winning Cars & Coffee. Set for Saturday, April 5 from 8 to 11 a.m., the season opener features Japanese Domestic Market and Asian brands. New this year is Off the Grid, a speaker series, with behind-the-scenes insights on the featured marquee—starting with Adam Bernard, who will share on the past, present and future of key players in Japan's auto industry. Also new to Cars & Coffee in 2025 will be a kids’ fun zone, slot car tracks, simulators, music, merchandise, indoor activity options and of course—complimentary coffee.
Bernard’s career with General Motors spanned 40 years until he retired as Associate Director of Global Competitor Intelligence in 2024. He has a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. This year, he launched AutoPerspectives, an automotive consulting firm, and began freelance writing. A longtime enthusiast, Bernard owns a 1972 Austin Mini and 1963 Buick Riviera.
The Midwest's largest Cars & Coffee event of its kind, a monthly tradition with a massive following, is an open-to-all communal culture that brings car owners and fans together in the Motor City for an unmatched experience. While JDM vehicles are the focus, other unique and collector cars are welcome.
A portion of tickets sold will directly support local nonprofit charity M1 Mobility, which provides residents with access to vital community programs including essential transportation services.
M1’s Cars & Coffee was named within the Top 5 national people’s choice car shows by USA Today’s 10Best editors. M1 is one of the few unique tracks like it in the world, with 11 challenging turns, a 30-foot-wide track, and an elevation change of 30 feet throughout its 1.5-mile span.
