Imperial Brings Holiday Cheer to Ferndale with 3rd Annual La Posada de Imperial
Imperial, the popular taco and tequila restaurant, is inviting the community to join them in celebrating the holiday season with its second annual La Posada de Imperial, a day-long celebration of tradition, festive food and drinks, and joyful giving. Taking place on Friday, December 19, this unique event brings the warmth and charm of traditional Mexican posadas to the heart of Ferndale.
Rooted in Mexican culture, posadas are cherished holiday gatherings filled with food, music, and camaraderie, often featuring processions, piñatas, and warm hospitality. Imperial is recreating this spirit for the Ferndale community, blending cultural tradition with its own lively, modern style. With festive decorations both inside and out, La Posada de Imperial offers a memorable holiday experience.
Guests can look forward to a special menu featuring food and drink offerings crafted just for the occasion. Warm up with a comforting bowl of Pozole Negro, with roasted chicken and hominy, or savor the rich flavors of a Roasted Lamb Shoulder Taco, with whipped goat cheese and pomegranate. Other highlights include a trio of tamales, a taco filled with sauteed wild mushrooms, and esquites, an off-the-cob version of elotes, with Brussels sprouts and crisped kale. Imperial’s regular menu is also available.
On the drinks side, the holiday spirit shines with options like the “Ginger Snap” cocktail, a festive mix of Hornitos Reposado, ginger liqueur, and cinnamon-pineapple cordial, or the non-alcoholic “Pretty Paper,” featuring roasted pear, nutmeg, and ginger beer.
Throughout the day, Imperial will spread cheer in a variety of ways. Guests will enjoy a festive holiday soundtrack while snagging last-minute shopping deals with discounted Imperial gift cards and merchandise. A traditional piñata—filled with $100 in gift cards, swag, and candy—will be raffled off.
In keeping with the season of giving, Imperial will donate a portion of the event’s proceeds to Forgotten Harvest, supporting efforts to fight food insecurity in the Detroit area. A donation box for Toys for Tots will also be available.
“La Posada de Imperial is our way of bringing the community together during the holidays,” said owner Sharon LaVoisne. “We’re excited to celebrate with our neighbors and share the joy, flavor, and generosity that this season is all about.”
