Shades of Pink Foundation - 2026 "A Walk at the Zoo"
Shades of Pink Foundation’s (SOPF) highly anticipated annual event, “A Walk at the Zoo,” is set for Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Detroit Zoo. This family-friendly event aims to bring together more than 3,000 participants to walk in support of those undergoing breast cancer treatment in Southeast Michigan. Funds raised stay local and will provide crucial financial assistance for everyday living expenses, ensuring patients can focus on healing, not bills.
“Nearly everyone knows someone affected by cancer, and for those facing breast cancer, the challenges are often overwhelming,” said Jenna Wright Greenman, president of the board of Shades of Pink Foundation. “At Shades of Pink, we’re dedicated to easing the financial burden of breast cancer treatment, covering expenses like rent, utilities and transportation. But we can’t do it alone — ‘A Walk at the Zoo’ is our largest fundraiser of the year. We invite you to join us on April 25 for an inspiring day filled with fun, emotion and community spirit to support these courageous patients right here in our community.”
“A Walk at the Zoo” offers participants a day at the Zoo and festivities at the fun-filled Big Top. This year, the Big Top will feature an exciting lineup of vendors, including A Vibe for All Crafts, Awareness Jewelry Designs & Jaffra Cosmetics, Belle Stone Toffee, Cappuccino Man, Corewell Health Genetic Counseling, Creative Designs, Epsilon Sigma Alpha - Alpha Kappa Chapter, Jane Dough, Michigan Health Services, Operation Breast Density, Sans Glamm Shop, SMPL Tallow, Tatted Bakery, The Juice Plus+ Co , Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski, and U of M Kinesiology. A 1.7-mile course will be mapped out for our walkers.
Attendees also will enjoy performances by Amigas Del Busto Zumba Troupe, Ballet Folklorico de Detroit, and the Shannon Irish Dance Academy and Performance Company, all under the Big Top along with breakfast snacks, raffle baskets, kids’ activities, a virtual auction for exciting trip packages and more.

Entry Time: Enter the Zoo between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Big Top Celebration: 7 a.m. to 12:00 Noon
Early Packet Pickup: Thursday, April 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at English Gardens (4901 Coolidge Hwy, Royal Oak, MI 48073)

Teams that raise $1,000+ will be recognized on banners lining the path from the Big Top to the Start Line. In 2025, 49 of 143 teams reached their goals and were recognized along the path.
2026 marks the 21st anniversary of Shades of Pink Foundation. Since 2005, the organization has distributed over $3.5 million to more than 1,600 breast cancer patients across Southeast Michigan thanks to the continued support of donors, supporters, sponsors and volunteers who remain steadfast in their commitment to the foundation and its mission.
