Join us for this event to kick off the Convective Gravity Waves in the Stratosphere (CGWaveS) science research project. CGWaveS is an atmospheric research project to study gravity waves and is funded by the U.S.National Science Foundation (NSF) and supported by the NSF National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). The project is led by Principal Investigators from the University of Miami, FL and GATS Inc., CO. CGWaveS data will be obtained by the NSF/NCAR HIAPER Gulfstream V aircraft from a series of research flights over the U.S. Midwest, based in Des Moines, IA, between May and June 2025. This is an open house for the public to tour the research aircraft, meet the scientists and crew on the project, and learn about gravity waves.
