SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra presents "The Beauty of December"
This holiday concert, titled The Beauty of December, features an elegant variety of music with a winter theme. Akin to an iPod on “shuffle,” the program will feature music from Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Red Skelton Show, Star Wars, Nutcracker, December Wishes, and An American Christmas. The performance features vocalists Shannon McAleb, Heidi Schmidt, and Josie Gendill, along with many instrumental soloists. Expect the unexpected, as most SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra concerts include wonderful surprises for the audience. Admission to this concert is free and there is no ticket. Donations are appreciated, as the ensemble exists on audience donations.
SoundTrack specializes in music from movies, television, stage, and other media that requires a soundtrack. Previous concerts have included a variety of instruments including electronic keyboards, EWI (electric woodwind instrument), low whistle, recorder, otamatone, and bagpipes, as well as the traditional chamber orchestra instruments. The group’s most recent concert, Tom Hanksgiving, was well-received and featured music from several movies starring Mr. Hanks. Tom Hanksgiving 2 is planned for November 2025.
The SoundTrack Chamber Orchestra (SCO), founded in 2020, is an all-volunteer adult chamber ensemble specializing in music from any and all stage- or screen-based genres including movies, television, opera, musicals, and more. SCO is active throughout the Denver metropolitan area and is available for performances for the general public, assisted living facilities, hospitals, festivals, 4th of July celebrations, churches, and private parties.
