The Historic Elitch Theatre is thrilled to announce a new summer program, Concerts in the Carousel, bringing free live music to northwest Denver on Sunday afternoons. This exciting new program will feature three outdoor concerts in June, July, and August.
Set in the magical and historic surroundings of the original Elitch Theatre grounds, Concerts in the Carousel offers an exceptional experience that will blend music, history, and community. Guests will enjoy world-class performances in a relaxed outdoor setting -- bring your chairs and blankets -- and this new program will continue the Theatre’s legacy of providing arts and culture for the Denver community.
Concert Schedule:
• June 15, 2025: Hazel Miller! – The beloved jazz, blues, and soul singer brings her powerhouse vocals and dynamic energy to kick off the summer series.
• July 13, 2025: Sentimental Sounds and the Denver Mandolin Orchestra – A nostalgic, celebrated, and captivating blend of classic melodies, plus rich mandolin harmonies.
• August 10, 2025: Denver Philharmonic Orchestra – Offering a spectacular finale to this new summer Historic Elitch Theatre program, we are partnering with members of the renowned Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, who will perform an afternoon of beloved works.
Last summer the Denver Mandolin Orchestra did a free concert in the carousel, and there was such a great response that we knew we had to do more of these shows. Our organization's mission is to restore and preserve the Historic Elitch Theatre, which includes the historic Carousel Shell, and we're working to bring the arts back to these historic spaces. As a summer-only venue -- the theatre used to be in middle of an amusement park that was closed during the winter, so the theatre was only open in the summer -- our programming is focused on live summer productions, kids' summer theatre camps, and history tours.
Concerts in the Carousel will take place at the Historic Elitch Theatre’s Carousel Pavilion, an inviting and family-friendly space, perfect for a summer afternoon of music and community. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and blankets to enjoy the performances in comfort. Concessions will be available, and purchases will benefit the Historic Elitch Theatre.
This free concert series, supported by SCFD and FirstBank, is our way of celebrating the arts and creating a shared community event.
