Ken Peterson and Sara-Lou Klein

Ken Peterson: ZOO-MORPHIA My 2026 show contains 3 separate series, that address 3 areas of personal and historical interest. ZOO-MORPHIA, a concept based on Zoomorphic beings with a play on the word referring to a widely held belief that “religion” is the opiate,(like morphine) of the people. On every continent during the evolution of humanly created “religion” we have imagined humans with animal attributes, and their powers that we humans would like to have. These works pay homage to the creative human mind. Cosmic Disintigration is based on the memory and its impact on me of an acid trip I took in 1966. Holga-channeling Stieglitz echoes Music, the title of a 1922 series of 10 cloud formations that iconic photographer Alfred Stieglitz made in his quest to show that photography was as important an art form as painting or sculpture. Please remember that your personal beliefs don’t threaten mine, nor, if you are secure in yours, should mine threaten yours. Sara-Lou Klein: Finding My Way Through Play Moving into a more playful, mixed-media style, Sara-Lou Klein has developed a new body of work that incorporates art treasures given to her by children she has cared for throughout her life. This exhibit blends her professional art with kids' art and nostalgic elements from her own childhood artwork, creating a joyful narrative that honors the process of finding happiness in simple moments. She is inviting the community to bring children’s art supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils, journals, sketchbooks, etc.) to the gallery, in exchange for an item featuring her art. They will be donated to the non-profit organization Art from Ashes “which exists to empower struggling youth by providing creative programs that facilitate health and hope through expression, connection, and transformation.” In honor of the kids in this exhibit - a portion of any sales will also be donated to Art from Ashes. This organization speaks to her heart, because creating art helped her find her way through some tough times, and still does. EDGE GALLERY 6501 W.
