Alane Holsteen and Jason McKinsey
100 Years of Solace: a collaboration with Alane Holsteen and Paralee Witt
In this exhibit of new paintings, Alane Holsteen is joined by her great-grandmother Paralee Witt, who died 72 years ago. Paralee began painting while living in a dugout, raising 10 children, and painting on scraps of fabric or paper when she could, to ultimately painting large canvases at college in her 80’s. Though Alane and Paralee’s paintings are separated by 100 years, the two explore landscape and nature, side by side, finding solace through hard times, and recreating hope.
Jason McKinsey: This American Dream
This solo exhibition by photographer and Edge Gallery member Jason McKinsey explores liminal spaces in the context of the deterioration of the American Dream. Join Jason on April 5 at 12:30 while he speaks to the project.
