50 Years of Hope & Healing
Karis Community has been a place of hope and healing for adults managing serious and persistent mental illness since 1976. On Friday, May 15, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, Karis will host its annual spring fundraiser, 50 Years of Hope & Healing, at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. All funds raised benefit our Community Members and help us fulfill our mission to provide a community where people heal together. Thanks to the support of generous donors, we can continue to offer our life-changing program, where adults learn to manage their illnesses, prepare to re-engage in the larger community, reduce hospitalizations, develop healthy relationships, and gain the skills to live independently.
Karis Community’s 50 Years of Hope & Healing fundraiser is not just an event, but a crucial opportunity to generate financial support, increase community engagement, and raise greater awareness of mental health advocacy. This event will serve as both a celebration of our 50th anniversary, a demonstration of impact, and a call to action for continued support.
Key Expected Accomplishments
1. Fundraising Success –
- Raise $80,000 to sustain and expand Karis Community’s Empowerment Program.
- Secure corporate sponsorships, paddle raise contributions, and silent auction revenue to maximize our fundraising efforts.
- Strengthen our financial foundation to maintain affordable housing, mental health services, and essential resources for our Community Members.
2. Engagement & Awareness –
- Welcome 200+ attendees, including Karis alums, community leaders, mental health advocates, donors, and corporate sponsors from the Denver Metro Area.
- Increase public understanding of serious and persistent mental illness as well as co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Share powerful alum testimonials to highlight the life-changing impact of Karis Community.
3. Stronger Partnerships –
- Cultivate new relationships with businesses, foundations, and potential donors for future support.
- Inspire long-term commitments from existing donors and encourage new monthly or major gifts.
- Engage corporate partners to deepen their investment in our mission.
