“Colorado is fortunate to have a strong, active workforce of talented people 50 years-of-age and older,” says iAging Founder Karen Brown. “The job and volunteer fair has the information they need to succeed and assist in matching them with the right employers looking to capitalize on their unique skills and seasoned experience.” Free booth space is still available for prospective employers, and the event is open to anyone 50+ searching for employment, interested in changing careers, or exploring new job possibilities. Organizations will also be able to promote volunteer opportunities, some that lead to part-time or full-time employment. To secure booth space or register, email [email protected], or call 303-467-7197.
Drawings for prizes will be held throughout the event, including books and gifts cards. Additionally, snacks will be available.
“It’s a win-win for everyone, and the Colorado economy is stronger when utilizing the skills of a diverse workforce,” says Encore Roadmap Founder Janine Vanderburg.
Career Education Classes are free and take place at the Apex Community Rec Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada. The March 19 session is virtual. Advanced registration is needed. Email [email protected].

As of mid-2024, Colorado’s total population was recorded at almost six million, with around 930,000 residents aged 65 and older, according to U.S. Census Bureau. That is about 16 percent of the state’s total. With people living longer and birthrates declining over the last 40+ years, a thriving economy depends on ensuring older adults find a place in the Colorado workforce, which makes participation in the Job & Volunteer Fair and Career Education Class Series more important than ever, says Brown.
“These types of initiatives are vital, and we hope Coloradans from a wide range of backgrounds take advantage of these valuable opportunities,” says Brown.
Partners for the Job Fair and Education Sessions include Apex Community Recreation Center, iAging, Colorado Commission on Aging, and Encore Roadmap.
