Colorado Rails & Cocktails: A Ticket to Tomahawk, Friday, April 4, 2025...For the first time ever, the Colorado Railroad Museum is bringing the magic of the movies to its beloved Rails & Cocktails series with a special screening of the classic 1950 Western "A Ticket to Tomahawk." This iconic film features the Museum’s own Rio Grande Southern No. 20 alongside its remarkable wooden twin, "Emma Sweeny." Filmed on location along the Denver & Rio Grande Western’s Silverton branch, this film is a true piece of Colorado railroad history. After the movie, railroad historian and former president of the Durango Railroad Historical Society, George Niederauer, will take us behind the scenes, sharing insights into the locomotives’ role in the film and the effort to restore "Emma Sweeny." Advanced ticket purchase is required. Admission: $20 Adults. Ages 21+ only. Admission includes 2 beverages of your choice (beer, wine or soda) and snacks.
