The Colorado Choir continues its 50th anniversary season by joining forces with the Denver Pops Orchestra for a collaborative celebration of legendary American composer Leonard Bernstein with “Psalms and Passion: The Music of Leonard Bernstein.” Concert dates are Friday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 4500 E. Hampden Ave. in Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113.
Performances will feature "Chichester Psalms”—Bernstein's timeless call for peace in Hebrew text that blends breathtaking vocal solos, dynamic chorals, and orchestral texture. Overtures, medleys, and songs from "West Side Story" and “Candide" will be performed by the choir, the orchestra, and jointly for a grand finale.
“Bernstein’s inimitable sound, with its percussive rhythms, complex harmonies, and musical sophistication, is simply unmatched,” said The Colorado Choir’s Conductor and Artistic Director Kelly Parmenter. “We are delighted to collaborate with the Denver Pops Orchestra for this tribute to Bernstein’s genius.”
