Hear Me, See Me: The Love That Dares
CORRESPONDENCE: Letters of Queer Resistance, Love & Revolution — Part 2
Presented by Badge Of Pride and The Writer's Garret
Kicking off the Dallas Is Lit! Literary Festival in Oak Cliff
Supported by the City of Dallas Office of Arts & Culture
We declared ourselves. Now we dare to love.
"We Are Everywhere!" opened the CORRESPONDENCE series by naming us — our identities, our presence, our refusal to disappear. "Hear Me, See Me: The Love That Dares" goes further. This performance centers queer love in all its forms: the love you claim for yourself, the love you give to another, the love that holds a community together across generations, distance, and time.
The performers stepping onto the Bishop Arts Theatre Center stage on May 6 aren't playing characters. They're stepping into a continuum — giving voice to original poems and declarations inspired by real letters, correspondence, and queer primary sources that real people wrote, sent, hid, cherished, and sometimes never got to deliver. Love that was tender. Love that was forbidden. Love that was, and always has been, an act of political courage.
"Hear Me, See Me: The Love That Dares" opens the 2026 Dallas Is Lit! Literary Festival — a fitting place for an evening built on the radical power of queer words.
This is public history, activated live.
