Tall Tall Redwoods is an Indie-Folk band formed in 2024 by lead vocalist Benny La Mar and guitarist Garrett Reaves in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. The two musicians first crossed paths while playing cover gigs on Nashville's famous Lower Broadway, quickly bonding over their shared love of indie music and a "do-it-yourself" ethos. Their connection led to the creation of a band with a distinctive sound rooted in both tradition and innovation.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Bon Iver and Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Tall Tall Redwoods blends intricate acoustic guitar work with deeply personal, introspective lyrics. Deeply influenced by a lifelong love of folk music in all its forms, DeSCALA seamlessly blends traditional melodies and instrumentation with modern styles to create a fresh, distinctive sound.
