Prader-Willi Homes of California is thrilled to announce ALIVE AND KICKING, a benefit concert on Sunday, October 6, at the iconic Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. This special evening will bring together a stellar lineup of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass favorites, including Jimmie Dale GilmoreChuck Prophet and Cumbia ShoesBill KirchenAustin de Lone, the legendary Lost Planet Airmen -- five original members of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen. This will be an unforgettable night of wild music and unexpected collaborations.

 

The ALIVE AND KICKING concert will raise crucial funds for Prader-Willi Homes of California, formerly known as The Richard de Lone Special Housing Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing and supporting residential living for individuals with Prader-Willi syndrome. The evening will feature performances by:

  • Jimmie Dale Gilmore—Bringing his distinctive blend of country, folk, and Americana music.
  • Chuck Prophet and Cumbia Shoes—Delivering an electrifying set as they prepare to release their forthcoming album.
  • Bill Kirchen—Celebrated as the “Titan of the Telecaster,” he is a founding member of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen.
  • Austin de Lone—Keyboardist known for his masterful skills on both the piano and the organ, de Lone is hailed as one of the pioneers of the British pub rock movement in the 1970s.
  • Lost Planet Airmen—After more than 50 years of exploring the far reaches of the musical universe, the Lost Planet Airmen are reuniting for this worthy cause. The Lost Planet Airmen recently released their latest album, Back From the Ozone. Bandmembers include Dr. John TichyBill KirchenAndy SteinBuffalo Bruce Barlow, and Bobby Black, along with Pete Siegel and Paul Revelli and Austin de Lone.

 

The night will kick off with a heartfelt performance by Caroline de Lone, who is returning from Nashville to perform a special song dedicated to her brother Richie, the inspiration behind Prader-Willi Homes of California.
