Cantare’s 100-voice adult Chorale, 26-voice Chamber Ensemble, and 65-voice Nova Youth Choir come together, accompanied by full orchestra and organ, to present seasonal favorites that reflect the sentiments from assorted sacred and secular traditions. The choirs will be directed by David Morales, Artistic Director, and Julie Haydon, Director of Children’s & Youth Choirs.
Selections include Francis Poulenc’s exquisite Gloria and the West Coast premiere of Jake Runestad’s “Climb” with orchestra. Other holiday classics include “Carol of the Bells,” “Ave Maria,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and selections by Bob Dylan, John Rutter, Mel Tormé and others. Nova will present “Baba Yetu” and “Grateful: a love song to the world” and will join with the Chorale on several other pieces.
