Caring Visitors

A Caring Visit is a special connection between a volunteer and an older adult who could benefit from companionship, conversation, and social interaction. It’s about creating a meaningful relationship to combat isolation and promote emotional well-being. Our program is designed to bring joy, connection, and a sense of community to older adults who may be feeling lonely or disconnected. Volunteers provide consistent companionship through caring calls, handwritten cards, in-person visits, and accompanying seniors to fun activities or events. How We Help Caring Calls: Regular phone calls to check in and provide a friendly voice. Caring Cards: Personal notes to brighten a senior's day. Caring Visits: One-on-one visits to spend quality time together. Socialization: Engaging conversations and shared activities to spark joy. Chaperone to Events: Accompanying seniors to local events or activities. And More: Personalized support based on individual needs. Our Goals Combat Isolation: Help seniors feel connected to their community. Restore a Sense of Value: Empower seniors by helping them feel important and appreciated. Promote Belonging: Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for older adults. Support Health and wellness: Enhance both mental and physical well-being Boost Confidence: Encourage participation in enjoyable activities that promote independence. Need a visit? We’re here to help! Seniors who would like a Caring Visit can enroll at Seniors@CityServeCares.org or (925) 222-2273 Option 1.
