Google Workspace Series
Google Docs
Saturday, January 17, 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
This beginner-friendly class introduces participants to Google Docs, Google’s free, cloud-based word-processing tool. The class covers the essential skills needed to create, edit, format, and share documents online. Participants will learn how to navigate the Google Docs interface, use basic formatting tools, insert images and links, and take advantage of helpful features such as spelling/grammar suggestions and voice typing. Students must be preregistered for Gmail. Please bring your cell phone, Gmail username and password to class. You will need your phone to login to your Gmail account.
Google Slides
Saturday, January 17, 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
This beginner-level class introduces participants to Google Slides, Google’s cloud-based presentation tool. This class teaches the fundamental skills needed to create professional, visually engaging slide presentations. Students will learn how to navigate the Google Slides workspace, choose and customize themes, add and format text, insert images, and arrange content using layouts and design tools. Please bring your cell phone, Gmail username and password to class. You will need your phone to login to your Gmail account.
Students will use library-provided laptops during class. Advance registration is required. Register online at aclibrary.org (click on Events) or call 510-667-7900.
