Hear Elgar’s musical love letter, and immerse yourself in passionate music of Delius and Prokofiev inspired by the Shakespearean lovers Romeo and Juliet. Emerging artists take center stage as we feature the winners of our annual Competition for Young Musicians in this evening of musical romance that will sweep you off your feet.
Cello soloist, Cara Wang, 16, Fremont, attends Stanford Online High School and will perform Dvorak’s Cello Concerto in B Minor.
Cello soloist, Donghu Kim, 16, who attends Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon will perform Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations for Cello.
ADDITIONAL VALENTINE’S DAY FUN! At intermission, Matt Finders’ teen jazz band, Element 116, will perform in the lobby. There will also be a themed photo booth in the lobby. After the concert, a complimentary reception will feature chocolates with local Livermore wine pairings and punch. Sure to lift everyone’s hearts by the end of the evening.
