Kriste Michelini Interiors Presents “Undercurrents” — A Group Exhibition Exploring the Art of Movement and Reflection Opening Reception: May 15, 2025 | 5:30–7:30 PM | 222 Railroad Ave, Danville, CA Danville, CA — Kriste Michelini Interiors is pleased to announce Undercurrents, a dynamic group exhibition opening Thursday, May 15th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Kriste Michelini Gallery in downtown Danville. Join Kriste and four inspiring Bay Area women artists for an evening of visual storytelling through sculpture, photography, and mixed media. Undercurrents explores water as both presence and metaphor—serene, elusive, and in motion. These works suggest that water is not just what moves, but what enables movement—not just what reflects, but what invites reflection. It is a meditation on perception, where the invisible shapes the visible, and subtle currents guide us forward. Through this lens, the exhibition presents: Audrey Heller, whose Linger series captures the interplay of time and memory through long-exposure photography. As the camera moves with her gaze, the images blur and shift—evoking the ebb and flow of thought and the softness of impressionism. Rebecca Fox, a San Francisco-based sculptor whose minimalist metal forms echo the quiet dance of ripples and waves. Her bold yet fluid abstractions draw attention to balance, gravity, and grace in motion. Kristina Liv Larsen, whose photographs reframe the landscape through mirrored prisms. By bending light and horizon into abstract arcs, she reveals layered ways of seeing—where sky, water, and geometry converge. Ruth Le Roux, whose abstracted landscapes evoke a meditative stillness. Using paint, stitching, and drawing, her work offers contemplative spaces that invite viewers to consider their relationship to nature, memory, and place. Together, these artists illuminate water’s role as both subject and symbol—reflecting our shifting perceptions and deeper emotional undercurrents.
