Join us for the opening reception of Roots of Restoration, a thought-provoking exhibition by artist, environmentalist, and scientist Brooke Ripley.
As an artist of the Anthropocene, Ripley's work emerges from the tension between environmental responsibility and creative practice. Through her work with True Pigments, she transforms pollution into paint, utilizes native plants in environmental remediation efforts, and investigates how art can inspire awareness and hope. Roots of Restoration is the culmination of Ripley's phytoremediation experiment at the True Pigments site in Millfield, Ohio, and her research into bioregions, native biodiversity, and ecological health.
The afternoon will include a reception and a special artist talk, where Ripley will share insights into her creative process, environmental research, and the biodegradable materials used throughout her work.
Admission is free and open to the public. Art will be available for purchase.
