Simon Kenton Council 2025 Day of Giving

Scouting America is rooted in fun, friendships, and creating unforgettable experiences that become the core memories kids carry with them for life. Whether it’s leading a group activity, exploring the outdoors, or solving interpersonal challenges within their den, pack, troop or patrol, Scouting helps youth develop and grow into the best version of themselves by shaping confident, compassionate and capable future leaders. Unfortunately, many youth are unable to participate in Scouting programs, go to camp and purchase a uniform because they can’t afford it. The Simon Kenton Council (SKC), one of the largest councils in the nation proudly serving 19 counties across central and southern Ohio and northern Kentucky, is hosting its annual Day of Giving campaign on March 20, 2025. It is asking our community to join together to help Scouts in need by raising $292,500 by March 31, which will support 1,300 scouts who receive financial assistance annually. For example, the Day of Giving campaign will support the ScoutReach program. This program, delivered in partnership with Columbus City Schools and Southwestern City Schools, serves over 1,000 youth annually, allowing them to participate in scouting after school through special stipend-based program aides.
