Let's Learn to Have Civil Conversations about Politics Again - Braver Angels
This workshop will be interesting to people who are concerned about the level of mutual anger between red and blue citizens and want to bridge that divide. Our nation is increasingly separated into political factions whose members do not know or interact with people of different opinions, except in anger and gridlock. It is more difficult because we are encouraged to form stereotypes of those we disagree with and dismiss them so that we cannot hear the concerns others have that bring them to a different conclusion. This workshop will help participants recognize when this is happening. Braver Angels provides opportunities for civil public debate as is necessary for the American Experiment to continue. The workshop will take two hours, with a break. There is no charge.
