Bethel AME Celebrates First Mortgage Burning in 80 Years.
Under the leadership of Pastor Bobby B. Cox, Jr., the Bethel A.M.E. Church invites the community to a historic Mortgage Burning Celebration on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. This marks Bethel’s first mortgage burning in 80 years. Bishop James L. Davis, Presiding Prelate of the Seventh Episcopal District, will be the guest preacher. The theme is “Paid in Full: Walking in Freedom and Favor.” Bethel A.M.E.
