Glass & Gloss with Neusole Glassworks

GLASS: Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, Neusole Glassworks is an exciting glass facility devoted to creating and promoting glass art — the only facility capable of multiple techniques with glass currently open for public access in Cincinnati. Specializing in studio availability and lessons in all skill levels for both professional and hobbyist glass artists, Neusole has hosted groups from the Upward Bound Program at the University of Cincinnati, the art and music students from Oldenberg Academy in Indiana, Trinity School and other groups. Neusole Glassworks is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit organization as part of the John J. Schiff III Foundation. GLOSS: Becky Linhardt is the curator of the Gloss photography portion of the exhibition, featuring her own work as well as that of four other local photo artists: Kelly Brunarski, Susan Ernst, Mike Simpson, and TJ Smith. Becky is the former curatorial assistant of the SCAC, as well as the founder of our annual “Art North” juried exhibition. In addition to the Westheimer Gallery, Becky’s work has been featured at the Clifton Cultural Art Center, Indian Hill Gallery, The Barn, Malton Gallery, and Spectrum Heart Center in Grand Rapids, MI, among many others. Join us for a special EXTENDED First Friday opening on Friday September 6, 5:00 – 9:00PM, including a visit from the Neusole Mobile Hot Shop presenting live glassblowing demonstrations in the SCAC parking lot. First Friday is free and open to the public, and the SCAC is a Sharonville DORA-friendly facility. Special thanks to The Cohn Family for sponsoring this month’s reception! Glass & Gloss runs September 6-28 in the Westheimer Gallery. Public hours are Thursdays and Fridays 3:00-7:00PM / Saturdays 10:00AM – 2:00PM, or by appointment. Contact us at [email protected] to schedule your visit.
