Since 2001, more than 200 community members representing a vast array of races, ethnicities, faiths, ages, vocations and avocations have been honored with the Keep the Dream Alive award. The 2026 honorees are: • Todd T. Legette • Kathy Michel • Dr. Sonia Jackson Myles • Latisha Owens • Angela and Terrence Pickett • Charles Williams • Danielle Helena Allen (Youth Honoree) The theme “Where Do We Go from Here?” is based on one of Dr. King’s most famous speeches and last book, in which Dr. King acknowledged the achievements of the civil rights movement and called for a new direction—one that not only focused on political and legal rights, but also on economic justice and addressing the moral and spiritual crisis in society.
