The Music in Kenwood concert series is pleased to present the CCM Jazz Orchestra on March 30, 2025 at 3 PM at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenwood. The program, entitled Swing, Swing, Swing will feature legendary “Big Band” arrangements made famous by Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and more. The concert is free and open to everyone! A free-will offering will be taken to defray the expenses related to the program.
CCM’s acclaimed Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Lab Band perform a wide variety of styles including historical swing, bebop, post-bop, fusion, Latin and avant-garde. Concerts have included historical tributes to Woody Herman and Stan Kenton, as well as composer residency programs featuring artists like Maria Schneider, Jim McNeely, Slide Hampton, Tim Hagans, Kenny Wheeler and many others as guest conductors and performers. Mandy internationally recognized artists have performed as soloists with the CCM Jazz Orchestra, including Eddie Daniels, John Fedchock, Frank Foster, Curtis Fuller, Kenny Garrett, Joe Henderson, Ahmad Jamal, Dave Liebman and Joshua Redman.
Music in Kenwood serves the city of Cincinnati and the surrounding communities by offering a series of diverse concert programs that educate, engage and entertain. Sponsored by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Kenwood, the series celebrates the grace of God through the gift of music.
