Michael Turner was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He started stand up comedy in Phoenix and then moved to Los Angeles to continue to pursue his career. He has been featured on Netflix Is A Joke Radio, he has a stand up special on Don’t Tell Comedy and he’s covered the NFL and other sports for NBC Sports and Bally’s Sports. He has gained a following online from stand up clips as well as NFL tailgating videos with his series called Mike’d Up. He created the Road Warrior Tour doing shows along with the Cincinnati Bengals road schedule. He has been featured on KFC Radio for Barstool Sports, The Danny Brown Show and Stuff Island Podcast.
Tommy Pope is a comedian, writer and actor. On stage, Tommy works in an entirely unique style that seamlessly blends observational humor with a wry intelligent subtext. Only 3 years into his comedy career, Tommy won the title of “Philly’s Phunniest” at Helium Comedy Club in 2011 and has since been touring nationally. In 2012, he was named a New Face in the prestigious Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. He is co-founder and member of the BirdText comedy group which produce live shows and digital content which has been featured on VH1, NPR’s Fresh Air, Philadelphia Magazine and National Lampoon. Tommy has also done voiceover work with Disney and was a featured character in the blockbuster “Planes.” Tommy recently filmed his television debut on AXSTV with Gotham’s new standup series. He also is a finalist for “NY’s Funniest” held during the NY Comedy Festival at Caroline’s on Broadway. He's a regular member of the cast for Netlflix's hit comedy series, TIRES, alongside Shane Gillis, Andrew Schultz, Chris O'Connor and more!
Chris O’Connor is a comic from Philadelphia, now living in NYC. His work has been featured on Comedy Central, SiriusXM, TeamCoco, Funny or Die, Buzzfeed, iTunes, Spotify, Huffington Post and Barstool Sports. He is one half of the podcast Stuff Island. He helped write and act in the sketch series Gilly and Keeves. In addition, he also starred in a pair of viral videos that garnered more than 3 million views (Samesies and Man hears for the first time) as well as the digital series Tires, which is now a HIT NETFLIX SERIES. For the past year he has been touring with Andrew Santino on the Cheeto Santino tour.
Commonwealth Sanctuary is Cincinnati’s home for exquisitely curated live entertainment. Each week we bring you hilarious stand-up comedians, intimate concerts, unique theater productions, live podcast recordings, and so much more.
Commonwealth Sanctuary is housed in the recently renovated, historic former Tower Methodist Church, originally built in 1914. It is no longer a church! Rather, we have converted the purpose of this beautiful old building to bringing you exquisitely curated live entertainment. We have, however, gone to great lengths to preserve the original character of the building while updating for it’s new purpose. We retained all the original stained glass windows and custom-built, curved pews.
We have added a full concession stand with draft beer and wine, as well as many canned drinks, including cocktails and Delta-9 beverages. We partner with local Dayton, KY business Kate’s Catering for our prepared food options. We have added full lighting and sound systems, as well as a complete broadcast-quality video system for recording events and live podcasts. We are exclusively partnered with Third Rule Media to produce our recorded content.
