MISSION IN MOTION: HISTORICAL HOME PLACES & STORYTELLING MOVEMENTS
The Carnegie Center of Columbia Tusculum's Artist in Residency, Dr. Sherry Cook Stanforth with Originary Arts Initiative
FREE
Wednesday, April 29, 6-8pm
People of all agers are invited to join us for this festive gathering inspired by heritage expression, social justice, community activism, and cultural outreach. In the words of Harriet Beecher Stowe, how might we be “a lighthouse symbolizing good will” in our everyday lives? Hosted by TCCCT Artist-in-Residence Sherry Cook Stanforth in collaboration with non-profit partners.
Experience creative interpretations of Greater Cincinnati’s historical home places and diverse migration heritage through folk music, art, poetry, spoken word, and personal testimony. In shared mission spirit, the Carnegie Center of Columbia Tusculum, Urban Appalachian Community Coalition, and Harriet Beecher Stowe House have woven together MISSION IN MOTION to share acts of community storytelling and place-based stewardship across generations and backgrounds. This lively collage-style program engages people of all ages in highly creative forms of sharing, bringing the work of neighborhood organizations to life.
