Winnemac Fourth for All 2026

The all-American sport of baseball will perfectly complement family-friendly activities this 4th of July when select all-star players from two local adult amateur leagues face off on the newly renovated ballfield at Winnemac Park. The ballfield is situated between Amundsen High School and Chappell Elementary School near Damen and Foster avenues. The two leagues are the Chicago Metropolitan Baseball Association and the Chicago Suburban Youth Baseball Association (all players are over 18 years of age). The opening pitch will be at 2 p.m. Earlier that day, the Chicago Disc Golf Authority will host its July 4th Ace Race, beginning at 9 a.m. in the park. This fast-paced, 9-hole course disc golf contest is open to all ages and skill levels. Additionally, a “disc golf kids zone” will provide coaching on the sport to young newcomers. A free yoga class will run from 10 to 11 a.m., provided by Bloom Yoga Studio. The public is welcome to bring their own picnic fare or take advantage of seven food trucks’ meals, beverages, and desserts all day and into the evening. * Entertainment and hands-on fun for children and families will create a festive place to mark the country’s 250th birthday, from 1-4 p.m. This will include face painting, interactive card magic, balloon twisting, children’s story time, soccer games, LEGO building, Wiggle Worms music, nature education (Chicago Ornithological Society), and a strolling accordionist. Rounding out the day will include a performance by Chicago’s flow-arts masters, Full Moon Jam, beginning at 7 p.m. and lasting through 10 p.m. Back for their third year, Full Moon Jam is becoming the tradition for friends and neighbors of Winnemac Park to celebrate America’s birthday in a safe, visually-spectacular way. *The food truck lineup is: • Tacomotora • Limoni Belli • Kona Ice • Travelin' Tom's Coffee • Reggie's • Empanadas 5411 • Dip N' Double Ice Cream THINGS TO KNOW FOR WFFA: • This will be a fireworks-free event; fireworks are strictly prohibited on park property. • Portable bathrooms will be available on-site. • Damen Ave. parking lot will be unavailable during the event. • Dogs must be kept on leashes to ensure the safety of patrons. • No alcohol | Non-alcoholic beverages are welcomed - be sure to stay hydrated! • Food trucks will be present throughout the day; picnics are also encouraged. • Respect for our community, park and natural areas are the core values of this event.
