This event honors Zeke Upshaw, a talented basketball player from Chicago who tragically passed away from sudden cardiac arrest during a NBA G-League game. His legacy lives on through this day of impact that combines:
FREE Heart Screenings (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) All student athletes, regardless of sport or gender, are encouraged to receive potentially life-saving cardiac screenings at no cost
Career & Health Fair (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) Students can explore diverse career paths and meet professionals from various industries while learning practical life-saving skills through interactive workshops
Youth Basketball Camp (middle schoolers) (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) Focused on fundamentals and leadership development
Alumni Basketball Game (12:00 PM - 2:00 PM) Celebrating Zeke's basketball legacy
This event is organized by Sneakers to Scrubs in partnership with Project Love Chicago, The Zeke Upshaw Foundation, and Student Heart Check, among others.
