Chicago Reader Night at The Rink
Join the Chicago Reader for the first-ever Reader Night at The Rink, powered by Wintrust Community Bank.
There will be skating, giveaways and special joyful appearance by Mrs. Claus, better known as the South Side’s own chanteuse, Meagan McNeal. Meagan has been on The Voice, lit the City of Chicago Christmas tree last year and opened for the Hip Hop 50 at Taste of Chicago.
This local legend will bring the Christmas spirit and sing some classics from her annual Soul Christmas brunch revue at City Winery. The Reader staff will also be in attendance sharing information from Wintrust about their commitment to community and financial resources.

About The Rink
A South Side institution amongst the very loyal Rollers of Chicago for 50 years. Owned by the Pouncy family, whose first dates were at The Rink, it’s been completely updated but still keeps a 70’s vibe. In addition to serving as a community fun space, it has also been a filming location for Disney’s Saturday’s, Nike ads, a recent Wilco music video and is regularly rented out for private events by South Siders who grew up loving The Rink such as Common, Chance the Rapper, Jennifer Hudson, and Val Warner.
