‘Songs of The Chickasaws: Epic Tales Told Through Music’


The Bach & Beethoven Experience (BBE) presents "Songs of the Chickasaws," a world premiere by composer Brandi Berry Benson, featuring a monthly native ensemble including Mark Billy (baritone and citizen of the Choctaw Nation), Rachael Youngman (soprano and citizen of the Choctaw Nation), Kiegan Ryan (cello), Michaela Marchi (percussion and member of the Isleta Pueblo Nation), Kiyoe Matsuura (violin), and Alecia Valoti (viola), as well as BBE directors Brandi Berry Benson (violin and Chickasaw citizen) and flutist Leighann Daihl Ragusa, whose mother is of Miami descent. The work features five different pieces that each highlight a different Chickasaw who had a great impact on the Chickasaw nation.
