Top Chef Alum, Chef CJ Jacobson of Aba and Ema Takes Over TenGoku Aburiya's Bento & Co Collaboration

The latest Chicago chef to team up with MICHELIN-recognized TenGoku Aburiya for their beloved Bento & Co. series is Chef CJ Jacobson of Lettuce Entertain You’s Aba and Ema! Joining the ranks of previous guest chefs like Chef Chris Jung (Maxwells Trading), Chef Lee Wolen (Boka), and Chef Dylan Patel (avec), Chef CJ is bringing his signature Mediterranean-meets-California flavors to the beloved izakaya starting April 22nd. Featured bites of this Bento & Co include scallion chicken kefta with Fresno pepper unagi sauce, Aba’s iconic hummus and furikake dukkah, grilled eggplant with preserved lemon, miso and pomegranate, a crunchy and savory cucumber salad and rice, the perfect light lunch as we welcome Chicago spring. And, 10% of every bento box sold will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, helping to fight food insecurity and end hunger. This specialty box will be priced at $20 and available at TenGoku during weekday lunch hours (Tuesday - Friday from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm) for dine-in and takeout from April 22 - May 2.
