October 7th Survivor
Gal Cohen-Solal is 37 years old from Kibbutz Re’im, the Kibbutz on the border with Gaza where
the Nova Music Festival took place.
Gal’s presentation is an emotional story of a strong young father and also a clearly articulated
description of exactly how the massacre unfolded in Re’im. His slideshow includes many
detailed maps, footage from Re’im’s security cameras, and also many accounts of what
happened to his neighbors and on the streets surrounding his community.
Over a year later, Gal is very honest about how his family is still struggling to settle into a new
life. But even when it’s impossibly hard, he believes in his family, his country, and his people,
and he inspires everyone he meets with his resilience.
