Get ready to make a splash for a great cause! The annual Shelter Shiver is back at North Avenue Beach in Chicago on Sunday, February 23rd at 10am, and it's calling on brave souls to take a plunge into the frigid waters of Lake Michigan in support of local animal rescue efforts.
Hosted by ALIVE Rescue, Shelter Shiver is a one-of-a-kind winter fundraising event aimed at raising much-needed funds and awareness for our furry friends in need. Participants are invited to take the plunge into the icy lake and help provide life-saving care, shelter, and adoption opportunities for animals across the Chicago area.
“Lake Michigan in the winter is no joke, and neither is the work that goes into rescuing and caring for animals in need,” said Amanda Burchfield, Events Director at ALIVE Rescue. “Shelter Shiver brings together the community in an unforgettable way—by taking a literal dive into the cold, we’re coming together to warm the hearts of animals who need our help most.”
How You Can Get Involved:
Jump In: Sign up as a participant to take the plunge into Lake Michigan. Each jumper is asked to raise a minimum of $100 to participate.
Support a Jumper: Not quite ready to brave the cold? You can still show your support by donating to a participant or by making a general contribution to the cause.
Spread the Word: Help us spread the word to your family, friends, and social networks. Every share, like, and shout-out helps us save more animals.
