You're invited to the official ribbon cutting ceremony for Mission Curiosity, Oak Park’s newest community bookstore powered by the nonprofit Our Future Reads.
Located in the heart of Oak Park, Mission Curiosity is more than just a bookstore — it’s a space built on the belief that everyone deserves access to meaningful, engaging books. Through book donations, community support, and the vision of our nonprofit, we've transformed hundreds of boxes of books into a welcoming place for readers of all ages.
This ribbon cutting is both a celebration and a thank-you to the people who helped make it possible — our donors, volunteers, neighbors, and friends.

We’ll kick off the morning with coffee and donuts, followed by brief remarks and the official ribbon cutting at 10:00 AM. Attendees are welcome to stay, explore the store, meet the team, and browse our curated collection of donated books — all affordably priced and ready for new homes.
Mission Curiosity operates as the sustainable funding arm of Our Future Reads, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing book access by redistributing donated books to schools, shelters, youth programs, and individuals across the Chicagoland area Every book purchased at the store helps fund those efforts — turning every customer into a contributor to a larger mission.
Whether you’re a long-time supporter, a neighbor curious about the space, or someone who simply loves books, we’d love to have you join us for this special occasion. This is a drop-in friendly, open house-style event — come by for the ribbon cutting or visit anytime throughout the day.
